The Importance of Men's Health Supplements
Two of the main concerns for men as they get older are prostate health and impotence or low libido. Although there are prescription medications that can help with both of these issues, the problem is there are some serious side effects to contend with, as there are with all pharmaceutical drugs. Fortunately, there are natural alternatives that can be just as effective without the potential complications, which is why they can be a better, safer option for the male population.
There are a number of male dietary supplements that can be beneficial to prostate health, either on their own or in combination with other nutrients. Saw palmetto, an herb native to the Atlantic seaboard, is one of the most popular and extensively researched mens health supplements. It contains a compound called beta sitosterol, which interferes with the conversion of testosterone to DHT, the main cause of prostate enlargement. Studies show that saw palmetto can actually shrink prostates as well as relieve urinary problems.
Another of the top rated mens dietary supplements is red clover, a member of the pea family that also inhibits DHT as well as fights off cancerous growths. Some of the other important mens health nutrients are zinc, which prevents infection in the gland, vitamin B6, which regulates the hormones that manufacture DHT, and lycopene, which can reduce inflammation and fight off prostate cancer.
Impotence or low male libido is another issue that can be helped with mens health supplements. This is a problem that affects millions of men each year, and can be caused by a number of factors from stress to depression to alcoholism. The male dietary supplements that treat this issue basically work in one of three ways: relaxing the mind, promoting circulation or balancing sex hormones.
Some of the top rated mens dietary supplements for impotence include ginkgo biloba, which can increase circulation to the male organ as well as stimulate the mind and concentration; gotu kola, which serves a similar function; muira puama, which can increase libido and balance hormone levels; and tribulus, which can help with impotence and infertility as well as stimulate hormone production. L-Arginine is an essential amino acid which can also fight low male libido.
So as you can see, there are a number of mens health supplements that can help promote prostate health and prevent or treat low libido or impotence, two of the leading male health concerns. Most of the top rated mens dietary supplements are available online, but make sure you consult a health professional first before you begin supplementation. He or she will help you find the male dietary supplements that are right for you.

Mens Health - Is it Safe to Mix Supplements That Block Fat and Carbs?
The common fat blocking pill being Xenical, recently approved by the F.D.A in the form of Alli in the U.S as an over-the-counter men's and women's weight loss supplement appears one way to block fats but doctors generally don't put much stock in it.
Studies revealed in 2008 that men who took Xenical for a year only lost on average only 13 pounds compared with a diet-only group that lost 6 pounds.
The problem here is that if you don't eat much fat, there won't be much in your intestine to block so you will gain little rewards, and if you eat a lot of fat then treatment effects such as bloating and diarrhea are common. The drug can also reduce the absorption of vital minerals and vitamins such as A, D, E and K, so taking a multi-vitamin as a precaution is strongly advised.
As far as Carb blockers go, the evidence that these supplements work is honestly slim. These supplements derive their main ingredient from an extract from (phaseolamin) found in the white kidney bean which interferes with your starch digesting enzymes within the intestine. Unfortunately your gastric system will contain a greater amount of enzymes than one pill can block so the results are minimal, plus carb blockers also deliver the same bloating side effects people get from eating beans.
If you want to take control of your carb intake the best way is to simply eat less carbs - it's not rocket science!
By also replacing them with simple carbs such as white flour and refined sugar with beans, apples, berries and oats, these will deliver quality soluble fiber. It's well known that soluble fiber slows the rise in blood sugar and insulin levels after a meal which provides a natural appetite suppressant reducing your hunger which is one essential way at tackling weight loss.
By taking both a fat and carb blocker you're essentially interfering with two of the three most important macro-nutrients, protein being the third which basically defeats the object of eating.
So as far as tackling fat blocking, Xenical may deliver minimal results over the course of a year but doctors now suggest that a much more viable alternative are Acai based supplements that are 100% natural and offer an entire range of attributes including weight loss.
Harvested from the rain-forests of South America, Acai is argued to not only help supplement a carbohydrate diet but deliver anti-oxidant, cancer, cardiovascular health, inflammation, and phtochemical health benefits all essential for reducing hunger, burning fat, increasing longevity, reducing blood pressure and insulin levels along with a whole host of other attributes.

Are Men's Health Issues Different From Women's And Children's
While there are many health issues that are universal concerns for men, women and children,
there are also a variety of health concerns that specifically to men and affect a man's
overall health. Issues such as arthritis, heart disease, prostate cancer and other forms of
cancer, sexual health and vigor all comprise the top concerns men face today. And,
unfortunately, most, but not all, are age related.
As a man ages he is subject to several conditions that can affect his mortality. The most
common cause of morbidity in the aging man is cardiovascular disease, be it heart attack or
stroke.
The second leading cause of death is cancer, and we currently do not know exactly why. This
may be due to the oxidative stress that our bodies are under, and the inability of our diets
to provide us with enough antioxidants to combat these effects. This all get worse as we get
older, in particular, prostate cancer seems to be on the rise. The cause of this is
uncertain. Part of it may be related to improvements made in early diagnosis of the disease.
There is an obvious correlation with prostate cancer and aging.
Men suffer drastic hormonal changes as we get older, usually after the age of 35. Prostatic
enlargement known as BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy) is becoming the fastest growing
health concern men face today. BPH is in large part related to hormonal changes that occur
with aging which relates to male hormonal function (androgens). Significant BPH can lead to
obstruction of urinary function and potential renal failure if untreated. BPH has been
reported in over 90% of men over the age of 85, although it is relatively uncommon before
the age of 35.
The incidence and prevalence of osteoarthritis increase as we age as well. Painful swollen
joints, caused by the deterioration of cartilage between bones occur, as well as decreased
pain free range of motion.
But, as we mentioned earlier, not all health issues are age related. Men, in their youth
and prime, are very active. Maintaining that level energy and vigor is of great concern to
men of all ages. A well rounded, nutritionally balanced diet is essential to a man's
readiness and ability to perform well, on the field, court even in the bedroom.
It just makes sense that better nutrition consumption would results in better performance, and nutritional deficiencies can often result in poor performance, decreased endurance, early fatigue, or inability to perform to your optimal levels of activity.
maintaining adequate amounts of vitamins and antioxidants It is essential to optimal health and vitality. B vitamins help minimize the risk of heart disease and stroke by decreasing levels of homocysteine. Antioxidants are important to combat the diseases of aging, to minimize oxidation of cholesterol (which can lead to heart attack) and to maintain proper immune function.
Any active male should be very watchful of there dietary intake. The research shows that strenuous athletic activity and or exercise can and will rapidly deplete the essential nutrient your body needs to perform daily functions properly. IN these cases,
vitamins, minerals and other supplements may be necessary to help improve performance.

Mens Health and Wellness
Mens health is a very important issue that needs more focus in the media and medical community. Although a lot of progress has occurred over the past twenty years there is still much to do. We need to distinguish real health issues from cosmetic needs and assumptions. All too often when you hear Mens or Womans health it tends to lean towards beauty topics versus wellness as we are advocating here. Internal health needs and trends are where we will attempt to focus our research and provide feedback in the future at Planet Berry.
This is the sort of mens health issues you should be thinking about. Mens health is crucial to learn about and to keep up to date on. We as a society should never fall short in communicating new research and findings throughout the medical community that help the greater good. This is our goal. Today’s topic is health and wellness for men.Health and wellness is the twin issues you can never afford to ignore. An annual plan to conduct proper physical fitness tests and measurements is a good foundation once you reach the age of thirty.
Yes we are all living to much older ages on average but are we doing so with a better quality of life and thus wellness? Modern medicine is truly a miracle but at times it too can restrict natural remedies for fear of lack of support from the government or as we all know the FDA. FDA is not evil. It exists to protect the population as best it can by forcing companies to certify their claims and thus products through detailed analysis and clinical testing. In such and environment speed to market is sacrificed for the greater good. Mens health as well as Womans health is, at times, forced to pioneer natural supplements such as the acai berry of the Amazon rainforest to see if they benefit from the state advertisements. The Acai is just one example as you have many natural supplements found in all four corners of the world which add great value to our overall health and wellness.
Mens health is not about just being athletic. Everyone wants to look good. Athletes tend to set the bar and role models are easy to find. However, realistically the commitment to an athletes physically toned body takes much more of a personal commitment than most want to believe or invest in. No short cuts unless you take an illegal route perhaps with unauthorized steroids. We never recommend this route and highly discourage its practice. A balance between the top and bottom (obesity) is a more comfortable expectation. So much can be done for mens health with simple steps like a change to your diet which you can view samples of and gain insight to at Planet Berry.
In summary, we believe a well rounded diet monitored by a nutritionist to start you off and reviewed with your medical professional is a great first step. The cost of doing this initial step is well worth the investment for the long term health and wellness you will achieve. Do your research and study current trends and topics that interrelate to this subject. Be as active as you can on a daily basis. Don’t fall prey to the 3 times per week attitude. Its every day or else! We highly recommend pedometers as they will keep track of your steps per day and in most cases trigger that competitive spirit in all of us to reach the 10,000 steps per day as recommended by leading physicians throughout the country such as Dr. Perricone. Change your mind and you will change your health and thus wellness overall. Be open to new ideas but always consult your physician first before adding new supplements or therapies to your normal routine.

8 Tips To Help Men Get That Schoolboy Body Back in 2009
Fitness is the essence of a man. Fitness is the ability of a person to do his normal everyday tasks with full alertness and vigor without worrying about fatigue afterward and with extra energy in reserve which can be useful when emergencies arise or during leisure and recreation. Overall fitness must be the primary goal every man must try to achieve. In fitness, no one is ever too young or too old for improvement.
One's fitness can be improved by engaging in aerobic exercises and through strength training. There are three components of overall fitness that every man must focus on working out in order to be in healthy, tip-top shape. These are cardiovascular work, strength training and of course, these should be coupled with a healthy diet.
Staying strong by building muscles. Man's fitness regimen should include a work out routine which aims to build the muscles. Aging causes a decrease in muscle mass of five to seven pounds (2-3.2 kgs) of muscle for every ten years in one's adult life given that he lives an inactive lifestyle. Truly, the saying "use it or lose it" is very applicable to the muscles. Fortunately, there is a good solution to this. Loss of muscle mass can be replaced by engaging in strength training.
Improvement of Man's fitness by cardiovascular work out. Flexibility exercises, strength training and cardiovascular work out surely help boost a man's fitness and all these should be part of a man's work out scheme. But of all these, cardiovascular work is the most necessary. Exercises under cardiovascular work conditions and develops the cardiovascular system and also works out large muscle groups.
So if a man does not have much time for working out, devoting whatever free time he might have to aerobic exercises would do him fine. He might have to pass out on developing those biceps but so long as cardiovascular work out exercises are done, then the blood pressure, heart and cholesterol levels will be fine to keep you staying happy and healthy.
The essence of nutrition to man's fitness. It is best as well as well recommended to eat whole and natural foods frequently than do it on large amounts in one to three sittings. Always keep variety in mind when doing the shopping. This will ensure that one is getting most if not all of the nutrients and minerals needed by the body to keep fit and healthy. Always keep the three important macronutrients in the diet; these are fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Prioritize proteins though over carbohydrates but never exclude any one of the three on some fad diet.
Some tips in keeping a man's fitness level high, efficient and safe:
1.) Drink plenty of water all through out the day, especially when working out.
2.) Do exercises properly using the correct techniques, whether it's weight lifting or aerobic exercises. Always read and understand, and follow of course, the instructions outlined by the personal trainer.
3.) Make sure the is always a spotter when lifting weights.
4.) Challenge the muscles, but make sure that it's kept safe.
5.) Stretch, warm-up prior to working out and cool-down gradually after sessions.
6.) Check the equipment for safety before using them.
7.) It is better to do less than overdo the whole thing. Overtraining will exhaust enthusiasm and kill performance.
8.) Visit http://www.goldminez.com to discover a plethora of vitamins for Men's health and stamina.
Liquid multi-vitamins have been proven to be 90% more effective than pills.
It has been said that there is "nothing more important than your health." Also government programs have stated that "we need good supplements" in order to maintain our health. Never underestimate the power of a solid liquid multi-vitamin. Keep health as a number one priority in 2008!

Men's Health - Important Reasons Why Mens Health Should be Taken Seriously
Mens health is an important issue facing everyone today, not just men. It becomes increasingly important for men to take an active role in their health as they age, as the older your are the more illness prone you become. The first step is to know that you're at risk, that way you know what to look for. From heart disease and stroke to cancer, some things are unavoidable no matter what you try to do to avoid them. Still, there are certain steps you can take to minimize your risk. Also, there are things you can do to catch potentially deadly illnesses (for example, prostate cancer) before they have a chance to develop into something that can't be treated.
The first step, as any doctor will tell you, is to exercise and eat a proper diet. Deep fried chicken wings and nachos are not items that a well balanced diet consists of, so try to eat more salads and lean protein. There are little substitutions you can make that can drastically improve mens health. The next time you go to the grocery store, instead of buying ground meat that is 15 percent fat choose a leaner version. It usually doesn't cost much more than an extra dollar or so per pound and it's well worth the health benefit. Also, instead of buying chicken that has the skin on it, choose the boneless, skinless kind. It's easier to cook and eat, plus you avoid a ton of extra calories and fat grams.
Obviously, exercising regularly is going to have a huge impact on mens health. Regular check ups by a doctor are also really important, as that's how you get screened for a lot of potential health problems. Additionally, if you currently smoke or use smokeless tobacco, you should definitely look into quitting. There are all kinds of programs that can help you kick the habit, including online and in person support groups and nicotine chewing gum and patches.
